"Walk This Way", the third season of the Four Seasons of Health, is a summer-long series of events and activities to promote healthy aging for Tri-City Seniors through walking and other physical activity programs. The launch event, "Dare to be 100: Be Fit and Active!" will be held in the Fremont Main Library on June 26. Speaker Walter M. Bortz, M.D., from Stanford University School of Medicine is one of America's most distinguished experts on aging and longevity. He will discuss how we can take active steps to live a long, healthy life and maintain vitality as we age.
Dr. Bortz will explain how it is never too late to start exercising and how physical activity minimizes the risks for heart disease, diabetes, hypertension and other chronic health conditions. The fun program includes exercise and yoga demonstrations, information tables with tips for staying healthy and community resources for walking, yoga, and other physical activity programs. Free goodie bags, exercise guides, raffle prizes and refreshments will also be available. To register or for more information, call (510) 574-2033.
