Summer sports camps
Girls Basketball:
The City of Newark Recreation & Community Services Department is now accepting registrations for two girls' summer basketball camps at the Silliman Activity Center in Newark.
The camps will be directed by Darryl Reina and the Newark Memorial High School Girl's Varsity Basketball Coach and Staff. The basketball training is designed for girls 8 to 15 years of age and of all skill and ability levels.
The fee is $150 for Newark residents and $159 for non-residents. It includes a camp T-shirt, and players will have chances to win awards and daily prizes. A special pizza lunch will be provided on the final Friday of the camp as well.
Girls will learn the following skills: shooting, ball handling & playmaking, individual and team scoring development, improved practice habits, special workouts for guards, wings, and post players, and individual and team defensive skill development.

Wrestling:
Foundation Wrestling, an acclaimed company that provides training and resources to aspiring wrestlers, is offering a camp for wrestlers ages 9 to 18. The camp will take place at Newark Memorial High School during the week of July 6 to July 10.
Skills that will be taught at camp will be focused around the company's respect Foundation Wrestling DVD series, and each camper will receive a complete set of DVDs upon completion of the training.
