Letter to the Editor: Sangeetaanjali Music School
I am writing to you concerning a recent article of yours in the Tri-City Voice (page 23 of the April 23-28 issue). I have been contacting the Planning Commission for two years concerning the property at 4600 Nelson St. I am a close neighbor of the home that is asking permission to use this residence as a music school and concert hall. Before this home was even remodeled, the owners were using it as a concert hall.
Often visitors to the home partially parked their cars in my driveway. When I Iearned that they were planning to remodel the home with the intention of having even larger groups at their concerts, I called the Fremont City Planning Commission. I was assured on two occasions that would never be allowed to happen. Now, here we are after the remodeling is completed and that is just what is being proposed.
There is already a junior high school and a church on this corner. In addition to that, there is a park where Fremont Football practices. A baseball group also practices in the ball fields at the school. Logan Drive is frequently lined with cars for the events from these groups, the school, and the church. We do not need another school on this corner, especially since it is supposed to be a family residence.
I have been contacting the Planning Commission again about this matter. I was unable to attend the meeting on April 9th, but have e-mailed them and sent them a letter about this proposal before the commission. I was pleased to see your article and thank you for it. I am waiting to see what happens with this matter. Thank you for your support.
