Talent may pay off

Graduating seniors from Fremont, Newark or Union City who have an artistic streak can apply for scholarships from the Tri-Cities League of Volunteers and the Newark Arts Council.

The Dan and Marie Archer Scholarship will provide a $250 award for photography and another for painting or drawing. The $250 Fred Jueneman/Newark Arts Council Scholarship is for instrumental or vocal music.

Deadline for all is Monday, April 27. Applicants for the music scholarship must audition on Saturday, May 9. The others must submit three finished products with their applications.
