Surviving during a poor economy is a challenge for any artist. Karen Honaker will share her ideas about alternative marketing at the Fremont Art Association (FAA). Two months prior to FAA's meeting, Honaker attended the West Coast Art and Frame Convention where she gathered up all the latest color and market trends. Honaker will also share her licensing experiences, along with how to try this yourself.
Karen Honaker, born in 1955 in Columbus, Nebraska has been an artist ever since she could hold a paint brush. At the age of 6, she began formal oil painting instruction and by the time she was 21, Honaker earned a fine art bachelor's degree from the University of Nebraska. Being married to a Navy pilot, the subsequent twenty five years of travel and living abroad influenced Honaker's painting style and choice of medium. Ever since moving to California in 1983, she turned away from oils and focused exclusively on transparent watercolors. Her work appears in Watercolor Magic, October 2006, Watercolor, spring 2005, and various other publications. Honaker is a signature member of the California Watercolor Society, represented by galleries from California to Maine, and her work is included in both public and private collections.
The FAA welcomes the community to this presentation which takes place Wednesday, April 8.
