Ohlone baseball climbing the charts
By Giovanni Albanese Jr.
As of Monday, March 9, Ohlone men's baseball is sporting a record of 17-3, winning 16 of their last 17 games.
That streak of phenomenal play has got them to the number two ranking in Northern California, according to the California Community College Baseball Coaches Association for last week (March 5). In tallying a total of 444 votes - just 23 total votes behind number one Sacramento - they received nine first-place votes.
Along with their number-two NorCal ranking, Ohlone also ranked number five in the Junior College Pacific Associations Division rankings. (The Junior College Pacific Associations Division ranks the western part of the country, including NorCal, SoCal, Washington, Oregon and Idaho.)
Over the next week, Ohlone will try to keep their current streak alive with three road games: Thursday, March 12, at Chabot; Saturday, March 14, at Monterey Peninsula; and Tuesday, March 17, at Hartnell. |
