As the Milpitas Chamber of Commerce celebrates its 16th Annual Crab Feed on Friday, March 6, we are announcing, for the first time, a grant program to benefit non-profit organizations funded by proceeds from the event.
An application for the grant is available at the Chamber website, www.milpitaschamber.com.
The Chamber of Commerce's mission is to support and enhance business within the City of Milpitas, including non-profit organizations. Being a non-profit business itself, the Chamber understands that assistance, now more than ever, is needed in this sector.
All 501(c) 3 organizations are encouraged to contact the Chamber of Commerce at (408) 262-2613 or visit this link to receive a grant application. Interested parties will be asked to provide information about their organization, reasons for requesting the grant and specific programs the monies will be used to support.
Available funds equal 10% of the events profits, which may be divided to meet the needs of more than one organization.
Most people love good crab. This is why people look forward to coming to the Milpitas Chamber's Annual Crab Feed. People come from all over the Bay Area to enjoy a delicious meal of crab, pasta, salad and garlic bread. They also enjoy the Silent Auction Program and last year the Dessert Live Auction was a hit with the crowd. Many attendees enjoy dancing after dinner and of course re-connecting with people that they haven't seen for a year...just at the annual crab feed.
Networking is tops at our annual crab feed, so they return every year. One person told me she saw the event posted on a T.V. station's event calendar, so called about purchasing tickets. She has been attending for the last eight years, and her group grows every year.
