By Mona Shah

The talented Voices of London, consisting of four lively and distinct personalities, has been acclaimed by critics and audiences alike for sparkling performances on the classical repertoire and entertaining commentary. Performing classical music spanning five centuries, their vibrant, resonant voicing will appeal to music lovers from all backgrounds.

With programs entitled "Five Hundred Years of Song" you can bet there will be variety. This dazzling foursome (until 2004, known as the "Scholars of London") takes audiences on a tour of the joy song spanning half a millennium. From renaissance madrigals and motets to beloved folk songs such as "Scarborough Fair," the program highlights the Voices; incredible versatility, sparkle and humor.

Since their professional debut in 1970, the Voices of London have given at least 2500 concerts in more than 50 countries, a record which can be rivaled by very few ensembles in the world. They have performed in many of the world's most famous concert halls, from New York's Lincoln Center, London's Royal Festival Hall and the Sydney Opera House to smaller, more intimate venues such as Wigmore Hall in London and the Brahmssaal in Vienna.
