Seeds set for soccer tournaments

Seeding for the North Coast Section (NCS) Tournament was finalized Sunday afternoon, Feb. 15, by the NCS Committee.

Hayward boys (12-6-5) will be representing the Hayward Area Athletic League (HAAL) in the Class 2A bracket as an at-large participant, with the #7 seed. Their Round 1 opponent will be #10-seeded St. Mary's (10-5-3). The game will kick off on Wednesday, Feb. 18, at 3 p.m., at St. Mary's High.

MVAL champions - Newark Memorial boys (17-1-6) and Washington girls (12-9-3) - will be hoping for a championship in the Class 3A bracket.

NMHS gets in as the #5 seed, and will take on #12-seeded College Park (10-10-3) at home on Wednesday night, Feb. 18, at 7.

Washington slid into the bracket as the #12 seed and will go on the road to take on the #5-seeded Castro Valley (19-3-1) on Wednesday, Feb. 18, at 7 p.m.
