Join the Canyon Band as the Newark Senior Center celebrates Valentine's Day by hosting a dance party for seniors (55+). The Canyon Band is a local band that plays for many senior dances and events. Pre-registration is $4 per person or $5 per person at the door. Complimentary refreshments will be served during intermission. Please call the Newark Senior Center at 510-578-4840 to pre-register by phone, using a credit card, or stop in to register, and reference class #27971. "We host dances once in a while, but this is our first Valentine's dance in a while," said Kelly Hess, Recreation Coordinator for the Newark Senior Center. Seniors can buy tickets online at www.newark.org or in person at any of the center's recreation sites: Silliman Activity and Aquatic Center, Newark Community Center or Newark Senior Center.
