Friends without borders

Submitted By Ripple Leung

On Monday, December 22, a group of 15 energetic youth from Milpitas Crosspoint Church came to make friends with individuals with special needs at FCSN (Friends of Children with Special Needs) in the City of Fremont. The program was organized by Ripple Leung and led by Youth Leader Peter Jung. Learning to make a difference in their community, church youth wore smiles and carried kindness and a non-discriminative attitude as they met with more than 30 students at the center singing carols and playing games.

Together, they prepared pizza, hot dogs and salad for lunch. All had fun while the Milpitas youth learned songs with sign language while FCSN youth were exposed to new faces and variety of games. According to the FCSN teacher, some students responded to the interaction so well that they became more expressive at the event. FCSN teachers and staff expressed a desire to continue visits from the youth group in the future; these new friendships have just begun.
