December 24, 2008 > Sons in Retirement Sons in Retirement Submitted By Naveen Swami Sons in Retirement (SIR) was chartered by Damian Reynolds in 1958 as a club in which men no longer in the workforce could find camaraderie. For 50 years, SIR has been bringing dignity and independence to retired men regardless of politics, religion or race.. Once a month, members socialize at a luncheon and listen to a guest speaker. Throughout the year SIR also offers family activities including golf and bowling leagues. Wives, partners and guests are invited to attend some SIR luncheons during the year as well.
