Peter Pan brings holiday cheer
Submitted By Michael Bonham
The Niles Essanay Silent Film Museum (NESFM) has your Christmas present ready. You can unwrap it Saturday December 20 at 7:30 p.m. and find none other than Peter Pan (1924).
Before Mary Martin, Mia Farrow, Cathy Rigby, Robin Williams and all the others there was Betty Bronson in a wonderful adaptation of the James Barrie play with great cinematography by James Wong Howe along with some excellent special effects. Add a special score by pianist Jon Mirsalis and you have a very special evening.
Just in case you can't make it that night we will be screening Peter Pan again Sunday December 21 at 2PM in a special show for the whole family with actors reading the title cards while Jon Mirsalis once again performs his special score.
Suggested donation for both shows is $5. |
