Art off the beaten path

Hidden in the heart of Hayward lies a little known art gallery that is dedicated to the advancement of community and children's art. Sun Art gallery is a jewel in our midst and is hosting a benefit art sale, just in time for some unique holiday gift shopping.
Artists are all local to the greater Bay Area and are as diverse as the community. There are artists who make their own Christmas ornaments, inlaid framed mirrors, pottery, candies and jewelry. Additionally photographers and paint artists are represented with a variety of framed art subjects, with differing sizes and styles.
Sun Gallery is open Wednesday's through Sunday's from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Holiday Boutique is on-going through December 12. The staff and volunteers are on-site during the boutique hours to assist you in your choices.
All art sales will benefit the children's programs throughout the year, with 25 percent of all sales going directly into this fund. Some artists have marked down their prices as the season comes to a close.
The Gallery hosts a free art program for families on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month from 11 a.m. to 1p.m.
