Boy Scouts help citizens to recycle
Submitted By Ripple Leung
The City of Fremont has chosen a green direction and the Lions Club has decided to help educate scouts with actions of green consciousness. A recycling effort will raise funds from helping local households clean out outdated electronic equipment in their garage. They can clear away clutter and get rid of old monitors, television sets, laptops, cell phones, and fax machines, printers, copiers, microwaves and other electronics. This is a fundraising effort by Boy Scout Troop 143 to support Scouting activities.
Working with the Fremont Elks Lodge, Troop 143 will have a one day e-waste dump site at the Elks Lodge. Together we help hundred of households cleaning up their e-waste before the holidays. Computer monitors, TVs, Cell Phones, Lap Tops, Flat Screens and Ink Jet cartridges will be accepted free. Other items such as DVD players, printers, fax machines, and CPUs will have a $5 recycling fee for each item.
The discarded material will be recycled in accordance with state law. Recycling is the law and it helps the environment.
E-recycling Saturday, Dec 20 9a.m. - 4 p.m. Elks Lodge parking lot 38991 Farwell Dr. Fremont (510) 862-1852 |
