Handcrafted Jewelry at Holiday Fundraiser
Submitted By Christine LaBadie
Just in time for the holidays, the Fremont Family Resource Center (FRC) will hold a jewelry boutique on December 2 and 4 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to benefit Discovery Cove, the FRC's onsite child care center. The handcrafted semi-precious jewelry includes necklaces, bracelets and earrings containing gemstones like amethyst, turquoise, coral, pearls, onyx and more. Most items are priced between $10 and $79 which is considerably less than retail. Sterling silver rings and bracelets are also available, along with exotic Afghan jewelry and accessories from The Afghan Coalition, an FRC partner agency. The Discovery Cove Jewelry Boutique will be held at the Fremont FRC, 39155 Liberty Street, Bldg. EFGH, Pacific Room #H800 in Fremont.
Discovery Cove is a unique drop-in child care center at the Fremont Family Resource Center, a collaborative of 27 social services agencies in one location serving families in the Tri-City area. Discovery Cove is available to FRC clients, at no cost, as well as to parents in the community needing occasional drop-in child care at $7.00 an hour per child. All proceeds from the event will be used to operate Discovery Cove and support quality child care in a safe environment.
