Cake walks and pies fly

Saturday, October 25 was a very special night at the Milpitas Rotary pumpkin patch. Milpitas political candidates got to have a face full of pie (thrown at them), and some lucky winners walked for cake. Colleen Noll, Calaveras Montessori teacher, involved with Rotary and Milpitas Unified School District, explained. A cake walk is pretty much musical chairs, with cake. There's a big circle on the ground, like a big clock with numbers. Music plays and everyone walks around. Everyone stops on a number when the music stops playing, and someone pulls a number out of a hat. Whoever is standing on that number wins the cake (or whatever prize). Milpitas Rotary is bringing it back.
