Submitted By Blaise Castren
Boomers, FC Fremont Girl's Under-14 House League Soccer Team, ran into two tough teams falling 4-0 to the Heat on Tuesday, Sept. 9, and 2-0 to the Titans on Saturday, Sept. 13. Boomers only trailed 1-0 at halftime against the victors as goalie Samantha Stephens recorded three saves, but the Heat came out firing in the second half. Boomer goalie, Lauren Youhanna, came up with four big saves before the Heat scored three more times. Cindy Tafolla was just wide on a shot for the Boomers while Ashley Campbell and Jenna Wondka also played well in the Heat's 4-0 victory.
Against the Titans, the Boomers had better scoring chances. Claire Castren and Synclaire Hamilton had good shots in the first half. In the second half, Elena Strom and Raquel Rodas teamed up on a several opportunities. The Titans scored on two breakaways, but otherwise the defense played well. Amy de Landa had a standout game at midfield. |
