September 10, 2008 > Artist Showcase Artist Showcase Hayward Arts Council has announced their September "Artist in Residence," John Warner who will work in the Green Shutter Gallery in Hayward on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Those interested in watching art in action are invited to come by to observe and ask questions. For the last five years John Warner has been painting in watercolor. His subjects are almost always coastal scenes ranging from Canada to San Diego to Hawaii and beyond. Lighthouses, marinas, fishing and surfing scenes, people and places near the sea are his inspiration. Warner taught drawing and painting for almost 30 years for the San Mateo Union High School District and presently teaches watercolor for the Adult Education Department there. His paintings have been exhibited and sold widely throughout Northern California and Oregon.
