Free and reduced price school meals available

Submitted By Val Joyner

Hayward Unified School District announces its policy of providing free and reduced price meals for children served under the National School Lunch and School Breakfast and Child Care Food Programs. The Hayward Unified School District serves nutritious meals every school day, which provide one-third of a child's nutritional needs including 8 ounces of fresh milk. School meals are available free of charge or at reduced price to school-age children who qualify.

Application forms may be obtained from your child's school, or by calling Food Services at (510) 723-3890, ext. 1. Also, applications as well as lunch menus and other information are available online at the school district Website www.husd.us (select "Food Services").
