The Greatest Little Dog Show on Earth

Love dogs? Looking for a new four-legged family member? Or just want spend a fun day with some kindred souls that can't get enough of dogs? On Saturday July 19, it's your big chance to fulfill your every fuzzy wish...the 10th Annual Niles Dog Show is coming to town with a Resounding Bark!
This will be the 8th year that Ohlone Humane Society has had the pleasure to partner with show organizer The Niles Main Street Association. It has grown into one of Fremont's most enjoyable family events and this year is a special occasion - the show's 10th Anniversary - and everyone has gone all out to make it the best ever.
As the show logo says... "No Pedigree? No Problem." Dogs of all varieties, sizes and age, and their humans are encouraged to come and participate. This is a chance to share with the world your dog's unique and often amazing qualities and story.
There will be representatives of local and regional rescue groups with dogs available for adoption. While there will be no onsite adoptions, applications will be taken from families interested in adopting one of these wonderful rescued companion animals.
Vendor booths of food and doggy-related services and items will be available for sale. Free information will also be available for helping dogs and their people.
This event will be sign language interpreted for the hearing impaired. If the weather is warm, a water park is available to cool off your pooch and maybe you.
The show will offer the following classes and demonstrations for your participation and enjoyment:
9:00 On-Site Registration at Niles Community Park's 3rd Street Entrance 10:00 Best Costume Light, cool garments only, please. 10:20 Best Veteran (aka Oldest Dog) Presented to the oldest dog based on age listed on entry form and/or whoever enters the ring with the oldest dog. 10:30 Best Performer Does your dog know a trick? Sing a Song? Roll over and Play Dead? Good enough! 10:45 Prettiest Female In this class, the judges will be looking at grooming and appearance, and all-around condition of the dogs. 11:15 Agility Demonstration Offered by TopnOTCH Agility, Happiness Country Kennels in Sunol. 11:30 Most Unusual Mix Judges are looking for the cross-breed dog that is singular and unique among its peers. 11:50 Adoption Parade Rescue Groups will present dogs available for adoption and tell their story. 12:15 Lunch Break, Special Awards and Announcements Great eats available, including vegetarian food. 1:00 Demonstration in the Florence Arena - Dana Smith & Lacey Dana performs amazing fire juggling and acrobatics while Lacey sings. There is volunteer audience participation 1:30 Best Rescued Dog Judges are looking for a happy dog in reasonable condition given the length of time the dog and the exhibitor have been together. 1:45 Most Handsome Male Judges will be looking at grooming and appearance, and all-around condition of the dogs. 2:00 Best in Show! The judges will select a Champion and Reserve Champion. All the day's blue ribbon winners are encouraged to attend. 2:30 Prize Drawing Drawing tickets available throughout the day. Win fabulous prizes.
All participants will receive a ribbon with special rosettes for winners. Winners of the Best in Show will receive a championship rosette and their dog's name will be engraved on a perpetual award. Awards will be presented by elected public office holders. You still have time to register your fabulous pooch either online or at the show. You can Pre-Register Online or download a Dog Show Registration Form and register by mail. You can save $5 if you register before July 18!
