The Greatest Little Dog Show on Earth

By Nancy Lyon

Love dogs? Looking for a new four-legged family member? Or just want spend a fun day with some kindred souls that can't get enough of dogs? On Saturday July 19, it's your big chance to fulfill your every fuzzy wish...the 10th Annual Niles Dog Show is coming to town with a Resounding Bark!

This will be the 8th year that Ohlone Humane Society has had the pleasure to partner with show organizer The Niles Main Street Association. It has grown into one of Fremont's most enjoyable family events and this year is a special occasion - the show's 10th Anniversary - and everyone has gone all out to make it the best ever.

As the show logo says... "No Pedigree? No Problem." Dogs of all varieties, sizes and age, and their humans are encouraged to come and participate. This is a chance to share with the world your dog's unique and often amazing qualities and story.

There will be representatives of local and regional rescue groups with dogs available for adoption. While there will be no onsite adoptions, applications will be taken from families interested in adopting one of these wonderful rescued companion animals.

Vendor booths of food and doggy-related services and items will be available for sale. Free information will also be available for helping dogs and their people.

This event will be sign language interpreted for the hearing impaired. If the weather is warm, a water park is available to cool off your pooch and maybe you.
