Learn something new in community education program

Submitted By Susan May

Whether you want to pick up some new computer skills, play the guitar, speak Spanish, or learn to ballroom dance so you can dance like the stars, you can find what you're looking for this summer in Chabot College's Community Education Program. New classes start each week, beginning June 16.

The program offers classes for adults, teens, and kids. Adults can try the new fitness/dance craze Zumba, create their own newsletter with Microsoft Publisher, learn to oil paint or sculpt, find a new career, or plan their finances. Teens can refresh their math skills with Summer Algebra Review, get ready for college by taking an SAT Prep course or learn to write essays for school or for their college applications. Kids can play soccer or basketball or enroll in summer camp.

"We have something for everyone, from ages 8 to 80+," says Susan May, Chabot's director of Community Education. "You can update your skills for your career or try something new and fun to change your life."

For details and to register, go to www.chabotcollege.edu/comed or call (510) 723-6665 for questions, to register by phone, or to get a printed catalog. Chabot College is located at 25555 Hesperian Blvd., Hayward.
