The Alameda County Library Foundation will be holding its 4th annual Library Gala fundraiser, "A Night in the library - Your Passport to Adventure," on Friday, June 13th from 6:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
"Following last year's smashing success, which raised over $48,000 toward library programs and services, we are absolutely ecstatic about this year's event," said Tiona Smith, Development Director, Alameda County Library Foundation. "With this event, guests will experience an exciting nighttime library adventure while raising funds for books, materials and library programs."
Attendees will be encouraged to mingle, bid in an auction, and visit tasting stations and interactive activities. The event is open to all age groups. Parents are encouraged to bring their kids and family.
Some of the items in the auction include: A trip to St. Martin, Spa and Golf packages, memberships for gyms, bay area sports gear, private wine tasting, TV show props and cast autographs.
Currently ACLF sponsors several key library programs such as the "Summer Reading Game" for children and teens, which encourages good reading habits over the long summer break. The foundation regularly supports children and family programs, including storytime for toddlers, author nights and cultural programs for families. Homework Centers at different library branches are also supported by the foundation to provide after school help with homework as well as an adult program series with local authors and speakers on a multitude of topics such as Feng Shui, cooking and multicultural celebrations.
Tickets are $100 per person. A Block of 12 tickets is $1000. Tickets can be purchased at the Foundation office, 2450 Stevenson Blvd., Fremont, or online at www.aclf.org.
