Darren Romeo - The Voice of Magic
Darren Romeo, protege of Siegfried and Roy, will bring his one-of-a-kind show, "Darren Romeo- The Voice of Magic" - an intimate theatrical extravaganza combining music and magic - to San Francisco's Post Street Theatre for an exclusive limited engagement beginning Tuesday, June 3.
Romeo combines an inspiring blend of vocal performances and masterful illusions for a one-of-a-kind magical performance. His Broadway-inspired production features classic and contemporary music ranging from Andrew Lloyd Webber to Billy Joel, as well as Romeo's original compositions. The show is punctuated by dramatic illusions including famed magician Harry Blackstone's classic "Floating Light Bulb." Romeo is the only magician entrusted by the Blackstone Estate to perform this illusion.
Growing up with the songs of his namesake, Bobby Darin, and other music legends Romeo's first love was magic. It wasn't until high school that Romeo discovered his passion for singing, through leading roles in musicals including Bye, Bye Birdie and Pippin.
Romeo was named Magician of the Year 2004 by the Academy of Magical Arts Awards and Entertainer of the Year by the International Magicians Society. He was also honored by The Society of American Magicians for his contributions to magic and performance.
