Heart Attack Claims Life of Barnard-White Teacher
The New Haven community offers its condolences to the family of Wes Bockstiegel, a math teacher at Barnard-White Middle School, who passed away Sunday night after suffering a heart attack. Mr. Bockstiegel entered teaching after a career in the computer industry, bringing a desire to help children overcome "math phobia." He came to Barnard-White this year after teaching at Washington and American high schools in Fremont. Mr. Bockstiegel is survived by his wife and two children.
Boundary Look-up Tool on District Website
With the closure of Barnard-White necessitating new boundaries for Alvarado and Chavez, some parents may be uncertain which school their child will attend in 2008-09. To check, go to the District website (www.nhusd.k12.ca.us), look under "Spotlights" and click on "School Boundary Changes." That will take you to the "School Boundaries" page, where you can click on "Boundary Lookup" and enter your address (using the pull-down menus to select your street and street-type) to find your school.
