Recognition of excellence
Educators are the guardians of our future. Students who spend a significant amount of time in their care are often heavily influenced by their teaching skills, guided by their knowledge and demeanor. The task can be overwhelming - only those with exceptional fortitude and creativity can meet the challenge with sustained vigor. Newark's Educational Foundation is one of the organizations that recognize the importance and value of educators and associates who make a difference in local schools.
Each year, a "prize patrol" recognizes teachers, administrators and others who have been selected as a recipient of an Award for Excellence for "making a positive impact and demonstrating a commitment to excellence to the District through direct or indirect service to students this school year." An award dinner will be held on Thursday, May 15 at the Newark Pavilion to present each with a commendation and accept the accolades of the community and their peers.
