It was a beautiful day for soccer at Irvington Community Park on Saturday, May 3. The game was a great match between The Pack and Arctic Penguins of FC Fremont Girl's Under-14/15 House League. The game started off with the Penguins pressuring The Pack by pinning them deep in their own end of the field. The Pack's goalie, Tiffany Sarchet, was tested time and again by the relentless pressure of the Penguins. Led by Erika Neave, Alice Ding, Alicia Shi, Savina Khangur and Mariya Waheed, The Pack defense played fantastically to clear the ball out of their end of the pitch and counter the Penguins' numerous attacks. The Pack forwards of Kendra MacLure, Erica Ohye, Ravneet Kaur and Deeksha Mehtra assisted midfielders Roshana Jacob, Kosha Kumar, Nicole Gronski, Aiman Arif, and Olivia Hanna to block and clear Penguin shots in the pressure-packed first half. Finally, the Penguins broke through on a great play and scored making it 1-0.

At the start of the second half, The Pack came out strong and pressured the Arctic Penguins, but the Penguins defense held strong. A quick break away and the Penguins scored again making it 2-0. Again, The Pack attacked and this time scored on a great shot by Erica Ohye, making the score 2-1. The Penguins went on the attack again and scored twice more to make the final score 4-1. Erika Becerra scored three of the Penguins' goals, and Vanessa Barrera the other, as the Arctic Penguins improved their league-leading record to 7-0-1. Becerra tallied 14 goals this season. For the Penguins, Sara Hearn played well in goal with strong defensive support from Rebecca Milani and Nicole Byrnes. Arctic Penguins' midfielders, Kylie Stoeppel and Janani Ravikrishnan, had standout passing games while Tanvi Seth also had an excellent outing for the Penguins. There was a great effort by both teams.
