Distance festival and Chabot relays
Chabot College track and field team will host their annual Distance Festival and Chabot Relays on Friday & Saturday, April 4 - 5. The meet will feature numerous two-year and four-year colleges.
Teams such as nationally ranked Oklahoma State will participate at this prestigious meet. "This will be a good opportunity for some of our top athletes like Rob Gire, Tony Mc Cann, and Shamika Davis to go against some good competition," said Chabot Track Coach Steve De Prato.
Many of Chabot's top athletes are ranked in the top 10 in their event for the state. Mc Cann, Gire, and Davis are ranked in the top five in Northern California in their respective events.
Thousands of spectators and participants are expected to attend this festival and relay meet. Admission is free on both days, and participation begins at 3:45 p.m. on Friday and 8 a.m. on Saturday.
