South Bay Chinese Service Club Scholarships
Submitted By Willy Yichoy
The South Bay Chinese Club is now accepting applications for their yearly scholarship awards. The deadline for submitting applications is Friday, Feb. 29.
The South Bay Chinese Club was formed in 1965 in order to preserve the culture and customs of the Chinese heritage, to foster and encourage better understanding of civic responsibilities and the American way of life, and to promote the general welfare of the community.
The club awards scholarships to graduating high school seniors of Chinese descent. Students residing in Fremont, Newark and Union City are eligible to apply. The actual number of scholarships will be determined by the amount of donations received. Last year seven $1,000, five $500 scholarships, and two $250 scholarships were awarded.
