Some New Year resolutions are easier to fulfill than others. If becoming "a dance floor great in 2008" was among them, Starlite Dance Club in Sunnyvale has an easy way to make that one come true. This year can be your time to trade two left feet for a unique set that can look good no matter what music is playing; those feet will know how to Tango, Cha-Cha, Foxtrot, Waltz, Salsa or complement whatever sounds are playing.

Commitment phobic dancers are welcome at many dance clubs. Drop-in classes are designed for those with irregular schedules or unsure of how to approach dance lessons. Many clubs offer beginner, intermediate, and advanced classes with social dance following to practice in a fun learning environment, For example, Starlite Dance has three distinct and different areas set aside for specific dance styles: the club, the cafˇ and the ballroom. The dance club is also open to those who prefer to practice on their own for only $10 per couple, per hour.

Starlite Dance Club offers social dancing, private lessons, and series dance instruction daily. Drop-in lessons are available Thursday - Sunday in Salsa, Argentine Tango, Swing, and the Hustle to name a few. Most drop-in classes for beginners start at 7:15 p.m., followed by an intermediate level class, then advanced level dance class. General dance time, called "Dance Party," usually starts around 9 p.m.

For those without a dance partner, many dance instruction facilities, including Starlite Dance Club, have a no partner required system. If unsure of dance etiquette, an informative webpage is available at: http://www.starlitedanceclub.com/etiquette.php.

As the party hats, horns, mistletoe and Christmas Trees fade from the scene, it doesn't take much foresight to envision new celebrations on the horizon. Now can be your time to take the first step toward an active and fun social activity...dancing. Whether your choice is private lessons, a series class, or a drop-in class to test your moves, you will be on your way to dancing with confidence and character while having a lot of fun.
