UNIDAS Club at Notre Dame High School in Belmont sponsored a bake sale fundraiser for the Mission District Principals' Alliance, whose goal is to provide new textbooks for underprivileged students in Catholic elementary schools. UNIDAS sent a check for $400.
UNIDAS promotes unity among Latino students, advances leadership training and development of students, and helps high ability youth from local communities. The club provides opportunities for all to better understand Latino culture and provide an atmosphere that will build, foster, and promote goodwill, appreciation, and respect among the cultural groups in the NDB community while representing and preserving Latino spirit. The club welcomes all students of both Latino and non-Latino backgrounds. Various activities include guest speakers, family gatherings, and community service. |
