Pop Warner Cheerleaders
Submitted By Toni Johnson
On Sunday, Oct. 28, the Tri-Cities Titans' Cheerleaders competed and showcased their talents in the Peninsula Pop Warner Cheer Championships. As the Cheer Director and Coach I had the extreme pleasure of watching all four of our cheer teams walk off the competition floor as winners.
The first to perform was the Jr. Pee Wee team. These girls range in age from 8 to 11. The team showed great spirit from the moment they walked on to the competition floor. They executed their motions and jumps with the precision and grace that it takes to be a champion. When they walked off the competition floor, the pride of their accomplishment showed on their faces. They may not have placed with regard to their score sheet, but to the people that really mattered, the Titans fans, they were number one.
Next to perform were the youngest members of the Titans family: the Tiny Mites and Mitey Mites, who are from 5 to 8 years old. This team could have walked onto the competition mat and simply relied on the fact that they were absolutely adorable - but this is not the Titans' way. These young ladies performed like true professionals and they executed their routine flawlessly. They showed that they were not only cute, they were also talented Titans. They have been invited to showcase their talents at the Pop Warner Regional Competition.
The last Titans family members to compete were the Jr. Midget Cheer Team. They took the competition floor like they owned it, and by the time their music ended, the floor belonged to them. They won first place and were declared Peninsula Pop Warner Cheer Conference Champions. They are headed to the Pop Warner Regional Competition that will be held at Santa Clara University on Friday, Nov. 23, at 9 a.m.
If they are successful at the Regional Competition on Friday, they are off to Florida for the Pop Warner National Cheer and Dance Competition that will be held in Walt Disney World.
Good Luck Titans Cheer! |
