Laugh Yourself Safe Seminar

The Newark Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce Crime Stop USA's Laugh Yourself Safe on Nov. 16. Last seen in Newark in 2004, the program is back by popular demand. Presented by standup comedians, this fast-paced seminar covers a wide variety of ways to be smart and aware in situations which unfortunately happen more often than we think. The event will be held in Cattlemens Restaurant with lunch included. Registration, networking, and a tradeshow will begin at 11a.m. with lunch served from Noon - 12:30 p.m. Laugh Yourself Safe will follow from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. The tradeshow will continue from 1:30 - 2:30 p.m. after the presentation.

In the seminar you will learn how to identify "red flag" behavior and keep your families safer at home, on the street, and in the car. Laugh Yourself Safe tells you how criminals pick victims, how to avoid looking like a victim, what to do if a gun is pointed at you, and how to incapacitate a criminal.

During the session you will also learn about sexual assault, the # 1 thing burglars say keep them out of your home, what to do when your car breaks down on the freeway, about the danger of weapons, how to avoid car jacking or ATM crimes, and what to yell in order to get help when you are a victim in a street crime.

The lunch and safety seminar costs $35. Reservations for this event must be made by Nov. 12. Cost to have a display table in the tradeshow is $50 and the donation of a raffle prize item. Space is limited, so reservations are required.

For more information about menu options, tickets, or how to purchase a tradeshow table call (510) 744-1000.
