Halloween is fast approaching, and goblins and ghouls all over are trembling with excitement. The cause of this fervor is the highly-anticipated Ghost House, presented by the Candle Lighters. This year, the theme of the Ghost House will be based on "100 Years of Scary Movies", and feature such blockbuster hits as Dracula, Godzilla, and Frankenstein. Located at the Fremont Hub, the festivities will begin on October 13th, and haunt the environs through October 30th. If Ghost Houses are too scary for some, a "Good Fairy" can serve as a guide that protects "little ones" from any scary witches or ghosts. All ages are welcome, and admission will be $2. Also, arcade games will be available after a spooky trip through the house at nerve calming 25 cents each. All profits will go to charities. Founded in 1969, The Candle Lighters is a non-profit women's organization (although at times, husbands are called upon for "heavy-duty" lifting). This year, the group will be celebrating its 39th anniversary. The Candle Lighters started off as fundraisers for the YMCA Building Fund, but later began supporting many other groups and causes. Besides the Ghost House, on October 20th, at 3 p.m., the Candle Lighters will host a costume parade for young ghosts, action heroes and other characters. Each year this attraction is redesigned for returning and new visitors so don't miss a Halloween Fremont tradition of fun and enjoyment for all.
