Newark (Lat: 37.52972, Lon: -122.03917) appoints 'Special Ambassadors' to Newark (Lat: 39.99306, Lon: -91.97278)
Every year, representatives of the 30 cities throughout the country named "Newark" are invited to gather and celebrate their "Newarkness." This year, October 4 -7, representatives from Newark, California traveled to Newark, Missouri which represents the smallest version of the namesake with only 100 residents. Although the town may be small, its spirit and pride is of monumental proportions so representatives Laurie and Robert Marshall, Bud and Pat Spalding and Dave and Judith Tanner planned to have a grand time at the end of their pilgrimage. A proclamation was issued at the September 27 meeting of the Newark City Council appointing these intrepid travelers as Special Ambassadors.
