Engraved bricks for new campus

As completion of the Ohlone College Newark campus draws near, the college has developed an opportunity to include the public in this momentous undertaking-building and opening a second campus in our district. Members of the community are invited to purchase bricks that will be installed in a designated location called "Pathway to Progress" located at the front entrance to the campus. For a nominal donation, bricks can be purchased in three different sizes that will be engraved with whatever names or message the donor chooses (limited to the size of the brick).

Ohlone has chosen to construct the campus according to high standards of environmental sustainability. Purchasing a brick will demonstrate support for the environmental efforts Ohlone has engaged in, including use of solar energy panels, recycled materials, landscaping with drought-resistant native plantings, and many other innovative resource-friendly building methods. In addition, buying a brick will show dedication to the students of the future, many of whom will change their lives because of their educational experience at Ohlone. All proceeds will go to furnish and equip the center with the latest, research-based technology and lab equipment.

Information on purchasing a brick can be found at our website: or you may call the Ohlone College Foundation at (510) 659-6020. Opening day for classes is January 28, 2008.
