After a successful tournament season, the FC Fremont TOPS, a U-11 girls Division I soccer team, started league play with a bang. In the opener against Livermore Venom both teams played hard. A goal late in the 2nd half from Melody Song assisted by Jessica Hernandez secured the win (2-1).
In game two against Mustang Extreme, Juliana McCuaig nailed the first goal off an assist from Tylore Bell to give the TOPS a (1-0) lead. The TOPS then scored again to finalize the (2-0) win. Against the Dublin Fighters, an impenetrable defense was lead by Lauren Clark, Dinaz Bamji, Megan Coffey, and Claudia Robinson to keep the Fighters scoreless. Outstanding offensive support from Rebecca Ryan, Jarna Patel, Eva Becerra, and Sharon Singh allowed Vienna Curtis and Yvette Cuellar to start the TOPS scoring ignition and drive home a 7-0 win. |
