Milpitas turns up the heat with Celebrate Milpitas!
The heat is on in Milpitas. This "hot" city will be in the spotlight this weekend as the city heats up for its spirited annual festival, Celebrate Milpitas! South Milpitas Boulevard between Los Coches St. and Turquoise St. will sizzle with art and food booths. Adding "cool" content to the festivities, live music from jazz to pop will fill the air from the Celebration Stage at Turquoise while community groups will entertain on the Community Stage at Los Coches.
This is an affair for the whole family. A carnival and special Kids Area will be hopping with activity while those who simply want to stroll through art booths and civic displays with wine or beer (on sale at the festival) can enjoy a mellow afternoon.
Each day, activities will start at 10 a.m. with a parade which is sure to be entertaining. Milpitans will demonstrate their creativity, innovation and probably a bit of silliness as they show off for the crowd. All this frivolity will have a serious side too as these folks are competing for cash prizes. Saturday's parade will feature hats and on Sunday, Celebrate Milpitas! will begin with a Tee-shirt Parade.
