General Plan meetings scheduled

By Dan Schoenholz

Are you interested in what Fremont might look like ten or twenty years from now? The City of Fremont is updating its General Plan, which is a blueprint for land use and development decisions. A series of neighborhood forums will be held to hear from community members about their ideas for Fremont's future. This is a great opportunity to influence how the City develops between now and the year 2030.

The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday evening, August 28th at 6:00 p.m. at the Niles Veterans Hall located at 37154 Second Street. If you can't attend this meeting, please come to one of our future forums:

Tuesday, September 11
6 p.m.
Warm Springs Community Center
47300 Fernald Street, Fremont

Monday, September 17
6 p.m.
Olive Hyde Art Gallery
123 Washington Boulevard, Fremont

Monday, October 1
Ardenwood
(location to be determined).

Refreshments will be provided, so if you plan to attend any of these meetings, please RSVP to Monica Pinto at 494-4744 or mpinto@ci.fremont.ca.us.

Also, make sure to take the on-line General Plan survey at http://www.fremont.gov/CityHall/GeneralPlan/default.htm , a quick and easy way to pass along your ideas about the future.
