June 26, 2007 > "Red, White & Boom" "Red, White & Boom" By Renee Lorentzen The City of Milpitas celebrates our country's Independence Day on Wednesday July 4, with a day full of water fun and an evening of ground fireworks. Schedule of Events 1:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. "Waving the Red, White & Blue" Pool Party at the Sports Center Please Note: Space may be limited at times due to pool capacity. 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. Milpitas Firefighters Local 1699 Barbecue at the Pool Party (nominal fee for barbecue) 8:00 p.m. (Gates Open at 7:30 p.m.) Silicon Valley Houserockers and "Red, White & Boom" Fireworks Display at the Sports Center. Fireworks begin at approximately 9:30 p.m. Please Note: Space is limited. No alcohol, glass bottles or dogs/animals allowed at the event. No barbecuing/tailgating in the parking lot. Personal fireworks are not allowed at this event. Fireworks are illegal in the City of Milpitas. All events are held at the Milpitas Sports Center, 1325 E. Calaveras Blvd., and are FREE.
