A taste of culture
By Mona Shah
Saturday morning is a great time in Union City to visit with farmers at the Alvarado Farmer's Market. Certified fruits and vegetables, direct from the farm taste sweeter and fresher. During the summer months, buyers not only have the pleasure of an open air plethora of produce but can enjoy some great music as well. Now in its 10th year the Union City concert series has some great bands lined up for your listening pleasure.
This year, the series will feature the following. All concerts begin at 10 a.m. and conclude at 12 noon.
June 30: Phoenix and Afterbuffalo-Rock Alternative July 7: Pepsounds-Smooth Jazz July 14: Sofritos-Latin Contemporary July 21: Janet Lee Myatt-Country July 28: Gemini Soul-Jazz Funk August 4: La Familia-Latin Contemporary August 11: Cover Grrlz-Classic Rock August 18: Jazz 4 You-Jazz Contemporary August 25: The Grand FaŤade Jumoke Hill
