Newark Days "Cirque de Newark" - get involved

There are many ways you can celebrate the City of Newark's 52nd Birthday at the annual Newark Days to be held Thursday, September 20 - Sunday, September 23. Applications are available for:

Food and Game Booths: Space available for operation Friday evening September 21 through Sunday evening September 23. Thursday evening, September 20 is optional. No food duplications are allowed. Applications will be on a first-come basis.

Arts, Crafts and Trade Faire: To be held Saturday, September 22 and Sunday, September 23.

Saturday Morning Big Parade: With the theme "It's A Circus" - this is where you can strut your stuff along Newark and Cedar Boulevards. Everyone welcome - marchers, antique cars, floats, bands, novelty units, equestrians. Come for fun and compete for prizes - trophies and cash.

Saturday Car and Truck Show: Enter your hot rod, custom bodies, classics, trucks, stock, vintage and low riders. Winners receive trophies in lots of categories including Mayor's Choice, Best of Show, People's Choice and Best Club Attendance. There will be a 50/50 drawing, lots of door prizes, a DJ and much more throughout the day.

Thursday Kids Circus Parade: The kick-off to Newark Days starts at 6:30 p.m. in the Newark Community Park. Entry is free and all schools and children's organizations/groups are welcome. Winners will receive trophies - all participants will receive ribbons and refreshments will be served.

Volunteer: It's great fun. There are many opportunities for people of all ages. Entry forms for all these events are available at the Newark Community Center, Newark Library Silliman Center, Chamber of Commerce and the League of Volunteers Community Service Center. Applications for other events will be available soon.
