Grimmer student, wins "Do A Good Deed" essay contest
Submitted By Candice Leano
Dr. Colin Yoshida and his staff presented Helen Vazquez of Grimmer Elementary School with a brand new desktop computer. Fremont Mayor, Mr. Bob Wasserman attended the celebration as guest of honor thanking everybody's team effort, promoters and participants. Grimmer Elementary principal Ms. Donna Tonry was also present and commented on how one good deed can affect and change the community.
Dr. Yoshida added, "I believe that children deserve a helping hand to make their own choice of what is right and wrong, to make their own choice of how to reach their goals without compromising their morals."
Because of the great success of this event, the "Do A Good Deed" essay contest will continue to acknowledge good deeds from children throughout this year; the next prize giving day will be held in November 2007. Any youth under 18 years old is eligible.
