Open Studios Tour 2007

Submitted By Mavis Brown

If you've ever wanted to see inside an artist's studio then you will be pleased to know that Fremont Art Association members will present their 6th Annual Open Studios Tour/Art Sale 2007 on June 2 and 3, 2007 from 10:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. free to the public.

The number of studios participating has increased to 14 sites this year where 58 participating artists will be displaying and selling their work; a diverse, full spectrum of art including Oils, Acrylics, Watercolors, Pastels, Mixed media, Photography, Sculpture, Ceramics, Jewelry, Computer art and many other artistic expressions. At some sites, as many as 8-10 artists will be displaying their work and many will also have music and light refreshments for visitors.

Maps showing studio locations will be available at the Fremont Art Association Gallery, 37659 Niles Blvd. in Fremont, also on the web at: and at each studio throughout the weekend.

While at the Gallery, notice the works currently displayed on the walls by FAA members and you will also see samples of door prize items made by the participating Open Studio artists which will be given to customers who visit the most sites. Maps will be stamped at each studio location showing that the site was visited. Look for yard signs to help you find the different studios which are sometimes in the artist's home, garage, yards or professional studios. This year's event is co-chaired by Kim deYoung and Jan Schafir, one of the originators of the FAA Open Studio's Tour, 7 years ago.
