May 29, 2007 > Pre-opening fundraiser to benefit the Newark Educational Foundation Pre-opening fundraiser to benefit the Newark Educational Foundation Submitted By Natalie Dent & Jamie Rosvall Fans of gourmet tacos and burritos have a new reason to celebrate with Chipotle Mexican Grill now opening a new location in Newark, Calif., at 34883 Newark Blvd. The restaurant will open on Thursday, May 31 from 11 a.m. - 10 p.m. Prior to the opening, Chipotle will hold a fundraiser to benefit the Newark Educational Foundation on Wednesday, May 30 from 5 - 8 p.m. The mission of the Newark Educational Foundation is to promote educational excellence within the Newark Unified School District by supporting programs in need of funding for the benefit of its students. One hundred percent of the day's proceeds will be donated to support their cause. Chipotle is committed to serving more naturally raised meat -meat that comes from animals that are fed a pure vegetarian diet, never given antibiotics or added hormones, and raised in a humane way - than any other restaurant in the country.
