Exciting volunteer opportunities

We are pleased to announce that the Fremont Police Department is expanding its volunteer program and you are invited to participate in this new and exciting opportunity.

If you're looking for a challenging opportunity to use your knowledge and skills then keep reading! This new program is designed to allow you, a valued community member, to assist the Police Department perform a variety of services for the residents and businesses in Fremont. By performing these duties and volunteering a minimum of 16 hours each month, you will be providing an outstanding service to the City of Fremont. The success of the program depends on you, and people like you, who want to take an active part in keeping our community a great place to live and work.

Fremont Police Volunteers C.A.R.E. - Connect, Assist, Respond and Engage. As a volunteer, you will be trained to work in the community in a variety of assignments. Once we have successfully recruited 20 -30 new volunteers for this program, training will take place in the fall.

We plan to implement and go live with the C.A.R.E. program by December 1, 2007. C.A.R.E. volunteers will perform assignments that will include, but aren't limited to; neighborhood patrol checks, educational booths at community events, child safety presentations, reporting suspicious activity, vacation home security checks, and reporting code and graffiti violations.
