Hayward commissioners and task force members wanted

The Hayward city council seeks residents interested in serving their community as commissioners or task force volunteers. Openings are presently available on the following boards and commissions:

Citizens Advisory Commission
Human Services Commission
Personnel and Affirmative Action Commission
Planning Commission
Downtown Business Improvement Area Advisory Board
Keep Hayward Clean and Green Task Force

Appointees to these commissions serve in an advisory capacity to the City Council.

Applicants applying for all commissions above must reside within Hayward city limits and must be registered voters. Applicants for the Downtown Business Improvement Area Advisory Board need not live in Hayward, but must own a business in the Downtown Business Improvement Area that pays assessments. Some commission positions require filing a Statement of Economic Interest.

Deadline for all positions is Thursday, May 31, before 5:00 p.m.

City council interviews are tentatively scheduled for Thursday, June 14. Applicants will be notified when the date is confirmed.
