Newark Education Foundation celebrates excellence
Each year, a "prize patrol" gathers at the Newark Unified School District offices with balloon bouquets to honor school personnel who represent the finest qualities of those working with and supporting education in Newark. The bright arrangements are an invitation to an awards ceremony which, this year, will be held on Thursday, May 17 at the Newark Pavilion.
Awards are given "to those who have made significant, ongoing contributions to the students of Newark Unified School District." Recipients were nominated for "making a positive impact" and "demonstrating a commitment to excellence."
Recipients for 2007 include:

For those who would like to help recognize these outstanding achievements, tickets are available for the Awards of Excellence program. Tickets are $40 (a portion is tax deductible) for adults; $25 for children, age 12 and under; $25 for Seniors, age 65 and over.
