Fourth annual Indo-American Charity Ball helps homeless and children
On Saturday, May 5, 2007, the Fremont/Newark Hilton will come to life for the Fourth Annual Indo-American Charity Ball. The event will be a showcase of both Indian and American culture, and an initiative to raise money for two local charities. The charity ball was inspired by local volunteers who make up Indo-Americans for Better Community to share Indo-American values and culture through community services and charitable donations Indo-ABC's mission is to serve and provide aid to homeless, poor, hungry and needy families and individuals through a 501 (c) (3) tax exempt, charitable organization.
The primary beneficiary of the Fourth Annual Indo-American Charity Ball will be the Tri-City Homeless Coalition (TCHC) which provides housing and services to end homelessness for local adults and children. TCHC also provides outreach through a mobile health clinic, emergency shelter and supportive housing.
Proceeds from the Fourth Annual Indo-American Charity Ball will also benefit Kidango, a nonprofit early care and education organization, serving children in Bay Area. Kidango's mission is to inspire and educate all children by promoting their potential and diversity through quality education and healthy nutrition.
Each of the previous Indo-American Charity Balls has been a great success. With generous donations from sponsors and the help of matching grants, Indo-ABC has contributed over $150,000 to local charities to date.
Organizers estimate that over 300 guests, comprised of local leaders, physicians, business owners and the community at-large will attend the Charity Ball.
