April 24, 2007 > South Fremont All Stars take national title South Fremont All Stars take national title The South Fremont 8th grade boy's All-Star team brought home the first place trophy in the Evans Division of National Junior Basketball. The National All-Star Tournament took place in Santa Ana, Calif. the weekend of April 13 - 15. To win the title, the 8th grade boys had to beat a tough Bakersfield team in overtime, then handle Chino Valley and Tustin to get out of pool play undefeated. In the semi-finals, South Fremont found itself battling Fairfield in another overtime thriller before advancing to the title game against Willow Glen. That game was a close contest until late in the fourth period. South Fremont All Stars pulled away for a convincing 48 - 36 win and the national title. South Fremont coaches are Derrick Jackson, Sr. and Derrick Jackson, Jr. The members of the 2007 8th grade NJB Evans Division National Champions are Chris Bell, Ashwin Ganesh, Ryan Gramlich, Ken Harris Jr., Jared Javier, Ronnie Jhaj, Sahil Parekh, Ashwin Reddy, Neil Uberoi, and Paul Williams.
